Romain Gary // The Ski Bum

New York, Harper and Row, 1965

First US Edition, First Printing

"The Ski Bum" was originally written and published in English by Gary, then translated into French in 1969 under the title "Adieu Gary Cooper." The French edition was dedicated to his son Diego, born from his marriage to Jean Seberg.

The book, together with "The Talent Scout" (French title: "Les Mangeurs d'Étoiles"), forms the second part of the "American Comedy" series.

In 1971, like several other works by Gary, the book was adapted into a film, featuring the enigmatic Charlotte Rampling in one of the leading roles.

Book and dust jacket in very good + condition.
